What new games are hitting Steam this week? We collect the release highlights from 24 to 28 July

The next week of summer 2023 is upon us and we’re actually in the middle of the dreaded summer slump. But you won’t notice too much of that this year, because big and really good games are still being released regularly.

Only last week Jagged Alliance 3, one of the best strategy games of the year, was released, and this week we continue with an action game that has the makings of a 90 rating. But we’ll also let you know here which other games are coming to Steam.

Highlight of the week: Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart

(Genre: Action – Developer: Insomniac Games – Release: July 26, 2023)

Two years ago, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart was released for the PlayStation 5 and still ranks as one of the best games for Sony’s latest console, which was crowned with a 90. Especially because the developers at Insomniac wanted to fully exploit the new technical possibilities of the PS5, and this includes, for example, blazingly fast loading times.

What the PS5 can do, the PC has of course been able to do for a long time, and so the wild adventure of the game veteran Ratchet and his steely sidekick Clank finally lands on Steam. You slip into the role of these two heroes and set out to hop almost fluidly from one dimension to the next.

On the way, you will have to deal with the henchmen of the well-known supervillain Dr. Nefarious, who has even usurped world domination in an alternative dimension. Here, Ratchet also encounters another playable Lombax named Rivet.

Be prepared for a technically impressive and always thrilling adventure that will most likely be one of the best you will get to play on PC this July.

The most important Steam releases of the week

      Thursday, 27 July

      • (Arcadian Atlas): A very classic tactical role-playing game, set in a fantasy world plagued by civil war.
