A new leak reveals the first details of the new Warzone 2 map that will be released alongside Modern Warfare 3.
As a recent leak reveals, we might find parts of old familiar Modern Warfare (2007) and Modern Warfare 3 maps as POIs (2011) on the new Warzone 2 map to be released with Modern Warfare 3.
Overwatch & Countdown
The well-known CoD leaker Metaphor has caused a stir on Twitter (or is that “X” now?) with a new leak on Modern Warfare 3. In his message he published the first details of the new Warzone 2 map, which he says is not only heavily inspired by Verdansk, but is also peppered with elements from old CoD titles.
The older Call of Duty veterans among you may remember the two multiplayer maps Countdown and Overwatch from Modern Warfare (2007) and Modern Warfare 3 (2011) respectively, which will serve as POIs on the new Warzone 2 map.
New Warzone map coming in MW3 looks amazing, slide cancelling is in the current build (it was also in mw2 but removed)
No giant hill middle of the map, tons of buildings and pois unlike caldera, lots of areas that look memorable.
I think it will be a lot of peoples fav map.

According to Metaphor, the city core of Downtown in particular should be strongly reminiscent of the popular Warzone 1 map Verdansk. The urban area is to be crowned by a tall building, which is modelled on the MW3 map Overwatch.
There will be no central high-rise area like Caldera, but instead “heaps of buildings and POIs”, similar to Verdansk.
This is the second major leak within a few weeks about Modern Warfare 3. Already in mid-July, first details about the new perk system, weapons and the return of the popular classic minimap became known.
Previously, insider Tom Henderson confirmed in May the arrival of a new Warzone 2 map, planned along with the release of Modern Warfare 3 and based on the campaign map Las Almas from Modern Warfare 2.
