Ahead of Midweek Madness, Steam is running a sale where you can pick up some fantastic shooters for very cheap

The Ukrainian Games Festival 2023 is currently taking place on Steam. From 18 to 24 August, Ukrainian games will be in the spotlight to promote local dev teams – and for you, that means one thing above all: some pretty good games will get big discounts. Shooter, build-up and story fans will get their money’s worth here, and there’s also a strategy highlight or two. So let’s spare ourselves the preliminaries and go through the most promising candidates.

The most important offers in the current Steam Sale

We alphabetically sort you the X deals we think are the best and most important in the current Steam Sale.

  • (Cossacks: Back To War): The veteran strategy game set in Europe between the 16th and 18th centuries is available with all expansions for €1.24.
  • (Cossacks 3) came out in 2016 after a long wait. Although it is not a masterpiece, you can experience decent strategy fun here for 8 euros (60 percent).
  • (Metro: 2033): Great story, fantastic atmosphere – Metro is an unforgettable single-player shooter that still plays great today. Costs 3 euros, 85 per cent discount.
  • (Metro: Last Light): Very successful sequel to Metro: 2033. Once again it goes into the Moscow metro shafts, once again death is waiting everywhere. Costs 2 euros, 95 percent discount.
  • (Metro: Exodus) is one of the best shooters in years. Hero Artjom really ventures onto the surface for the first time. Costs 6 euros, 80 percent off.

  • (Ostriv: The construction game in 18th century Ukraine is still in Early Access, but has a sensational 93 percent positive reviews. Currently costs 19 euros (10 percent discount).
  • (Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One): Does the world’s most famous detective work as an open-world game? Surprisingly well, in fact. At 13.50 euros (70 per cent) you’re in.
  • (Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments): If Open World is too much for you, then the best Sherlock game of the last ten years is available as an alternative for a measly 6 euros.
  • (Stalker): If you want to understand why everyone is freaking out about Stalker 2 – the original is currently only 4 euros (75 percent off).

Anything for you this time? If not, then it won’t be long until the next Steam Sale. And at the Opening Night Live of gamescom 2023, there will certainly be lots of new games announced. Maybe. Hopefully. For sure.
