An October release date is currently doing the rounds. What we know for sure at least: When the next solid info is coming!

After 2021 Vampire Bloodlines 2 s development team was fired, there was long uncertainty about the future of the role-playing game hopeful.

Now at least there is hope that the release might not be as far away as feared!

What date was mentioned?

A date has appeared in the online shop of the publisher Plaion – according to this, Bloodlines 2 will be released on 27 October 2023 for consoles and PC. The launch would therefore only be two months away.

A corresponding marketing campaign with new trailers & Co. would then be imminent. The last official statement of the manufacturer: The game is postponed indefinitely.

How realistic is that?

Of course it could be a placeholder date or simply a mistake – after all, such a quick release of the beleaguered project would be a very big surprise

After all, it is not even known who is developing the game after the premature end of Hardsuit Labs. Recently, the alleged release of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 on 1 December 2023 was also leaked by Plaion’s store. Shortly afterwards, the shooter was postponed to 2024.

When will we know more?

Luckily, it is already clear when Vampire Bloodlines 2 will make its next appearance. Because as the official account rather unmistakably indicates, the vampire RPG will be shown during PAX West 2023:

The Game Fair takes place from 1 to 4 September in Seattle. You can follow the (event live via Twitch).

The fact that a release date for Bloodlines 2 will finally be mentioned at PAX coincides with (Paradox boss’s) statements from last year.

The long blood trail of Bloodlines

The sequel to the acclaimed role-playing game was announced back in March 2019 and was scheduled for release in 2020, but (as we all know) nothing came of it.

Developer Hardsuit Labs (Blacklight Retribution, State of Decay 2, Maneater, CoD Vanguard, among others) was pulled from the project and Paradox hired a previously unknown developer.

Troika Games, the makers of the first Bloodlines installment from 2004, had to close down just one year after release due to financial problems, but their game is still considered an absolute classic among role-playing games (and even still gets updates from fans).

Bloodlines 2 will once again combine great freedom of action, a dark atmosphere and momentous decisions in a modern metropolitan setting, where various vampire clans and other factions are at each other’s throats in secret.

Of course, it’s still unclear how much the title has changed since Hardsuit Labs went out of business. we’ll keep you posted!
