Sunkenland appeared in Early Access on Steam just a few days ago, but is already attracting many players with its concept.
Surviving under the most adverse conditions is simply fun – at least virtually. Especially on Steam, survival games of various kinds can always strike a nerve with many players.
Sunkenland, which lets you explore a flooded world, has also had a successful release. With currently about (17,000 simultaneously active players) the survival title makes it into the trends.
What is Sunkenland?
In the post-apocalyptic survival game, the sea level has risen dramatically and flooded most of the Earth. People now live only on boats, floating platforms and small islands. The trailer already shows you what the world of Sunkenland looks like:
Sunkenland you play either alone or in co-op. The game promises classic features for its genre, such as:
- Base building: Anywhere in the world, whether on islands or in the middle of the sea, you can build modular bases out of wood and metal. You can craft items there, store loot, and defend against attacking pirates and mutants.
- Exploration: You will visit different islands as well as sunken cities to recover new technologies and resources.
- Crafting: From tools to modern firearms to jet skis and helicopters, you can build almost everything in the game yourself.
- Needs: As usual for the genre, you’ll have to provide food and water, and manage scarce resources well.
What do the reviews say?
Of the first 1,300 Steam reviews, (70 percent are positive) . For example, the movement on foot and in vehicles as well as the technically decent state for an Early Access version are praised again and again. At the same time, however, still existing bugs and unfinished features are criticized.
Until the full release, which according to the developers will take place in about a year, new content for Sunkenland should still follow, and many bugs will be fixed.
What do you think of the survival game after a first look at Sunkenland? Does the title sound exciting to you despite its early state of development and rather simple graphics?
