In the main story of Cyberpunk 2077 there’s still a bug after update 2.0 that can permanently ruin your game. The good news is that it can be easily avoided.
Johnny Silverhand gradually frying your brains in Cyberpunk 2077 is part of CD Projekt Red’s plan, but the quest Automatic Love
at the beginning of Act 2 is a bit too early for that. During this job, at the current time – the actually great update 2.0 is freshly released – you can shoot your score through the wrong dialog option.
What specifically happens? If you already have a few game hours on the clock, then you know how Johnny Silverhand affects V on a regular basis. Your vision gets blurry, blue haze flickers through the image, everything flickers. A bug can cause this vision to never stop – making continuing to play a bit of a nightmare.
Especially stupid: Especially newcomers sometimes don’t even notice the bug, because they think the flickering is surely part of the quest somehow. They continue to play blithely and must eventually fold hours of game progress into the garbage can.
That’s why: follow our little guide, we’ll tell you the exact spot, because the bug can be easily avoided if you know what to look for.
How to avoid the bug?
In the quest Automatic Love you have to follow the trail of the missing Evelyn Parker and infiltrate the Clouds for Judy. At the very end of the quest, you’ll talk to Johnny, who was anything but sympathetic to you the night before. You can choose between two options:
Asked you – what the hell do you want? / I asked what you want from me.
Fucked in the head worse than me. / You’re crazier than me.
PSA: In the mission “Automatic Love” do NOT select the option “Fucked in the head worse than me”. This will make the glitch effect stay forever. Lost a good amount of progress due to this.

Do not choose option 2! On Reddit, various users warn about this, but our tester Natalie was also able to reproduce the bug in Update 2.0. Drinking alcohol before the dialog and thus blurring your vision doesn’t help either – neither in real life, nor in the game. Currently there is no fix for the bug – at least not an official one.
How to fix the problem with a mod: You can download the mod Glitch Begone for free ( via Nexusmods). Install the fix, load your save game, save, uninstall the mod – done. The mod simply removes the veil and lets you continue playing normally – at least on PC.
Either way: Choosing clean
dialog option 1 has no negative consequences. The dialog option merely gives you the ability to modulate V’s character a bit more granularly between an aggressive and a less aggressive variant. However, you don’t block any further quest paths with it.
This problem only affects you, of course, if you also want to relive the base game at the launch of Phantom Liberty – which, by the way, we can definitely advise, because with 2.0, even the original Cyberpunk 2077 is worthwhile again in a whole new way due to all the new features and revisions.
