Demonologist is especially popular with horror fans on Steam right now thanks to Unreal Engine 5.
The latest horror tipple on Steam is titled Demonologist and left Early Access on September 25. Fans of Phasmophobia should feel right at home in the co-op game.
A special feature of Demonologist is the use of Unreal Engine 5 Developer Clock Wizard Games goes so far as to say that this is why the game is the title with “the best graphics in the co-op horror genre “
The poor washing machine…
The graphics splendor – or at least the fancy rendered horror – seems so impressive, (that one player claims) she “had to change pants several times”. After all, that’s all a horror experience can really want.
Even in Early Access, Demonologist made sure that the washing machine had a lot to do for many streamers. Among the 90 percent positive Steam reviews, the issue of soggy clothes is also a persistently prominent theme.
What is Demonologist about?
On your own or with up to four players in co-op, you go on a ghost hunt as is typical for the genre. On the different maps you first have to find out what kind of ghost haunts the place and then exorcise it.
You’ll always encounter random fiends, and you can use different equipment to find and banish them. Daily and weekly tasks, as well as events and missions, are meant to provide variety.
(On Steam) Demonologist currently costs just under 15 euros. However, you can also download a free demo first to hunt ghosts on a trial basis – and to spare your washing machine a bit for the time being.
Demonologist sounds like a worthy alternative to Phasmophobia, which can score points especially with its visuals. What does a horror game have to offer you to really scare you? Is Demonologist such a game for you? Feel free to write us your opinion in the comments!
