Diablo 4: Today the action role-playing game is released on Steam

Blizzard officially announced that Diablo 4 will also be released on Steam. The release is scheduled to coincide with the start of Season 2

After Overwatch 2 will Diablo 4 be the second game from Blizzard to also be released on Steam. In a stream of Diablo 4’s Season 2, Blizzard announced the release on Valve’s platform.

All important info on the Steam release of Diablo 4

  • Release parallel to Season 2: According to (official announcement) the Steam version of Diablo 4 will be released at the same time as the start of Season 2 – i.e. October 17, 2023 at 7pm.
  • Cross-Play Options: As with any platform, you will need a Battle.net account to play. This will allow you to play together with players from all supported consoles (PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One) and of course Blizzard’s in-house launcher.
  • Cross-progression thanks to Battle.net: Since you use the same Battle.net account on different platforms, game progress is also synchronised on all platforms.
    Steam features:
  • Steam features: Through Steam, you can earn achievements as usual and have access to your friends list, which allows you to invite friends directly into the game. You can also use controllers with the Steam version.
  • Diablo 4 on the go: (The Season 2 livestream) confirmed that Diablo 4 will also be available on Steam Deck.

Tough situation for Diablo 4

Blizzard took a lot of criticism for Season 1 of Diablo 4 and is trying to implement community feedback through patches.
