Baldur’s Gate 3 has been available for the PlayStation 5 for almost 2 months now. But when is the Xbox version finally coming? The Larian Director of Publishing speaks some words of power again.

PC, PlayStation and Xbox – even if more and more gamers turn their backs on the “platform war”, the fronts are hardened, especially on Twitter. Especially (time-exclusive) titles regularly pour oil on the fire.
Baldur’s Gate 3 developer Larian also seems to have gotten caught in the middle of this crossfire – although no exclusivity was actually intended.

We remember: In August, Larian had still explained that the weaker hardware of the Xbox Series S had caused major development problems . But already at the end of the summer month they had announced the agreement with Xbox and an Xbox version for Baldur’s Gate 3 between (September and November) announced.

Even though nothing has changed in these plans, it seems that many Twitter users are not moving fast enough. For example, Larian staff has to deal with trolls and hate messages time and time again.
Michael Douse, Director of Publishing, seems to be getting fed up and (reaffirms in a tweet), that the Xbox version of Baldur’s Gate 3 should still be released this year.

He emphasized that they had talked about this several times before, but Twitter users with a wide reach still caused a huge stink.

So what do we take away? That we should put developer studios on the spot less and let them do their jobs. It’s not like there aren’t enough alternatives
