If the Rival 9 is not yet your favorite SMG in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 that should change quickly – at least according to CoD expert TheXclusiveAce. For him, the best choice in this weapon class and in his latest guide he explains why.
The best SMG in MW 3
Thanks to its high rate of fire, extremely good time-to-kill and high mobility the Rival 9 is the best choice for Ace at short distances. As a bonus, the weapon also scores a few points in terms of precision, so you can still fire effectively at medium distances
In his video, TheXclusiveAce suggests an all-round and a stealth setup for what he considers to be the best submachine gun:
All-Around-Setup for the Rival 9:
- Muzzle: Purifier muzzle brake S
- barrel: Rival-C-Clearshot-barrel
- Shaft: MTZ Marauder-Shaft
- grip: Rival Vice assault grip
- Magazine: 40-round magazine
According to Ace, there is another variant of this setup that is used by many professionals. For this, you swap the 40-round magazine for the DR-6 hand stop from the underbarrel category.
Stealth setup for the Rival 9:
- Muzzle: Shadow-Strike Silencer S
- Barrel: Rival-C-Clearshot-Barrel
- Shaft: MTZ Marauder-Shaft
- grip: Rival Vice assault grip
- Magazine: 40-round magazine
To avoid showing up on your enemies’ radar when firing your weapon, replace the muzzle brake with a silencer . However, you will have to give up a little recoil control and aiming stability
Loadout tips
With these setups, you’re ideally equipped for quick fights at close range. When it comes to perks, you’ll have to customize your loadout to suit your personal preferences. Nevertheless, here are a few tips:
- Since the setups rely on a lot of mobility and speed, the infantry vest is a good choice.
- The high rate of fire consumes a lot of ammunition, the Raiders’ Gloves solve this problem. The ammunition crate as a field upgrade is also an option.
- Then you can choose the Commando Gloves to be able to reload while sprinting.
