New weapons, new perks, new level progression and even the weather is changing: Hunt takes another big step just before the turn of the year

Hunt Showdown has long been one of the most intense and exciting multiplayer games on the market – and developer Crytek isn’t even thinking about stopping. On the contrary:

As the roadmap for 2024 proves, they have big plans for the dark extraction shooter.

And you can already tell: With Update 1.15 and the new event called Tide of Desolation, there is now a double hit full of new content and improvements. We break down the most important new features for you

Update 1.15

The new patch has a lot to offer and, for example, gives the entire level progression of the bloodline a complete overhaul.

In the video, Dennis Schwarz, the lead game designer of Hunt, presents all the changes in detail:

Here are the most important key points:

  • 7 new weapons or weapon variants, including a katana and the Caldwell Pax Trueshot revolver with higher penetration power than the standard model.
  • Traits (i.e. advantages for your fighters) are being revised, with several variants being merged and completely new ones added.
  • Whoever carries a Bounty will in future receive a warning effect even after using the Darksight if enemies are within a radius of 75 meters.
  • The new Ash Bloom weather effect fills the air on the map with ash clouds that restrict visibility and affect animals in the game world.
  • All weapons are available from level 1 of the bloodline, variants are unlocked through XP or at the new workbenches with weapon oil or blueprints.
  • Recruiting new hunters will be cheaper and their traits will match; however, free hunters will only be available below 20,000 Hunt Dollars in the account.

Tide of Desolation

The new event reintroduces a Battle Pass, which you can use to unlock the new weapons ahead of time. Of course, there is also new lore to discover, skins to unlock and the pact system returns.

Watch the trailer for the event to see what you can expect:

Here are the most important key points at a glance:

  • Runtime: Tide of Desolation runs from December 13, 2023 to February 14, 2024, at 8 a.m. German time.
  • Pacts: The Drowned, Demented and Grounded factions are returning; you can join them with Pledge Marks at supply points on the map.
  • Pledge Marks: You can earn points for your current Hunter by banishing bosses, looting dead hunters and collecting event points.
  • Event Points: By completing challenges and interacting with the altars in the game, you will earn points that will advance you in the Battle Pass.
  • Battle Pass: As usual, there is a free path that includes the new weapons and some skins. For Bloodbonds (the real money currency of Hunt) you can unlock the full Premium Pass.

In addition, you will encounter the Ash Bloom weather effect more frequently during the event (see our summary of Update 1.15 above). At the end of the event, the new weapons will become part of the regular progression and can be unlocked and used for free
