There are new rumors about the alleged remake of Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag. According to a reliable insider, work on it has already begun
Will pirates and Assassins meet again soon? Rumors of an upcoming remake of Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag were already being circulated in July 2023. The source at the time was the website Kotaku, which referred to unnamed sources. Now an insider claims to have found new information on the status of development.
You recently crowned Black Flag your favorite game in the AC series in a GameStar poll. The game also enjoys an excellent reputation outside of our community, so a remake would come as no great surprise – after all, it was released over ten years ago.
Nevertheless, please note that this is as yet unconfirmed information and that Ubisoft itself has still not commented on it.
What’s the rumored status of the remake?
Tom Henderson, who is known as a reliable leaker and insider, has published an article about the remake. In it, he refers to the streamer and YouTuber JorRaptor, among others
The remake is reportedly being developed by Ubisoft Singapore, who are currently working on Skull and Bones, another pirate game from Ubisoft that has suffered from extremely turbulent development and has been postponed several times. This info matches the rumors published by Kotaku a few months ago.
Now a LinkedIn profile is said to have revealed that work on this remake has already begun in September 2023 According to JorRaptor, this means that some developers have been pulled off Skull and Bones and are working on Black Flag’s remake instead. JorRaptor shared the discovery on X (formerly Twitter):

There is talk of a previously unannounced project, which is supposed to be the remake – other AC games have already been announced and it is rather unlikely that a completely new IP is currently being created at Ubisoft Singapore.
A release date is not yet known, the comments below the tweet speculate on the year 2027. We also don’t know whether it will be a remake or a remaster
