The makers of Banner Saga want to delight co-op fans with Towerborne this year. The sidescroller will also appear directly in the Game Pass
Since The Banner Saga 3 was launched in 2018, fans of development studio Stoic have been waiting for the next title – now it’s almost here, apparently the fantasy action Towerborne will launch this year.
As Gamesradar reported in a preview, some new information is now known – we summarize it for you.
The most important information about Towerborne
The latest work from Stoic has a unique graphic style like Banner Saga, but differs significantly in gameplay: Instead of turn-based strategy, you can expect an action-heavy sidescroller in which you upgrade your weapons when you’re not beating up goblins. You can see what this should look like in the trailer:
There is a particular focus on the co-op mode: Four players can take on the adventure together, even locally! So nothing stands in the way of a cozy game night on the couch.
We summarize further information for you in a quick run-through:
- Four weapon types will be available: Double daggers, sword and shield, war club and thick gauntlets. The weapons all have their own advantages, and a well-balanced team should be important.
- Each player also has a companion (called Umbra), which you also equip with different abilities.
- The Belfry, a large tower, will be your base There you can improve your weapons, accept new quests, etc.
- The game world will change with seasonal content and an ongoing story.
Towerborne will be released later this year, but there is no exact release date yet. The sidescroller will then be released on PC and Xbox consoles, and Towerborne will also be included in Game Pass from day one. The publisher is Xbox Game Studios
