Shortly after the release of Dave the Diver for Sony PlayStation in April this year, the monster Godzilla will follow via DLC on all platforms
What does a seemingly idyllic vacation paradise on a mysterious lagoon need to be the talk of the town? Godzilla! After the developers of Dave the Diver have already lured monsters from the world of Dredge into their underwater world, now the legendary Japanese monster will follow in May 2024.
After its triumph on platforms such as Steam or Nintendo Switch, last year’s surprise hit will also be released for the Sony Playstation in April, as announced at the recent State of Play. So a thematic-regional anchoring certainly makes sense.
Fiery appearance
Meanwhile, apart from the announcement and the release month, we don’t know very much to report yet, because on the one hand the trailer was really short and on the other hand it wasn’t very meaningful: Godzilla rises burning from the water in the middle of the lagoon and stomps towards the shore and meets an old acquaintance for veterans of the title – Cut.
But see for yourself, even if the Godzilla part is short and only forms the second half of the video:
Unclear scope: Exactly what features or new water creatures Godzilla will bring to the lagoon is currently completely open. It is also not known whether we will be able to take on the beast ourselves.
How much will the Godzilla DLC cost? We don’t know that at the moment either. However, the generosity of the developers at Mintrocket could be repeated. Because the Dave the Diver – Dredge Content Pack was and still is free to download for all owners of the main game on all platforms.
Dave the Diver was one of the big surprises of 2023, a year in which many things did not go as they seemed in advance. In the GameStar talk above, we get to the bottom of the matter and review 12 months of exciting gaming stories.
By the way: If you’re now frowning and doubting whether this add-on doesn’t contradict the basic idea of the apparently down-to-earth genre mix, you’re wrong.
Without giving too much away, we can assure you that Godzilla fits thematically quite well into the world, because Dave the Diver is not just about the best sushi. Mysterious things lurk in the lagoon, telling stories from a time long past.
