When does Warzone Season 2 start?
Warzone starts on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 in Season 2.
The popular map Fortune’s Keep celebrates its comeback
The well-known map Fortune’s Keep from previous Warzone Seasons returns! It last found its way into the game in 2022, but the new edition has little to do with the previous version.
The fact that the Mediterranean island has been heavily reshaped by a massive explosion is the most striking new feature. In addition, there is a new underground laboratory that has unleashed a new terror
on the island, which the developers are still keeping quiet about in the blog entry.

Rankings in resurgence mode
For the first time in Warzone history, the new map will feature ranked matches in Resurgence game modeOnce you reach level 55, you’ll be able to pursue a new goal of climbing higher and higher up the leaderboard
The ranking mechanic will be integrated in the periodaround the launch window
so it will not necessarily be available from day 1 in Season 2.
New operators and weapons
In addition to the temporarily available Operator skins for The Walking Dead (more on this below), the familiar Kate Laswell (only available in the Battle Pass) and John Doe (only available in the Blackcell Battle Pass) return.
There are also four new weapons in Season 2 of Warzone: the BP50 Assault Rifle, the RAM-9 SMG, the SOA Subverter Battle Rifle and the Soulrender Melee
New gameplay features
Of course, there will also be some gameplay changes in Season 2 of Warzone:
- The so-called Eradication Contract is a new type of contract in which you have to track down a zombie nest on Fortune’s Keep and unsurprisingly destroy it before time runs out.
- For a limited time there will be Power Ups for zombies making the brain-slurpers even more dangerous.
- With Rogue Signal there is also a new public event in which teams compete against each other in a 90-second objective-based mission. You read that right: With such tight time constraints, things are likely to heat up! During the event, you can see your ranking on a scoreboard.
- There are a total of three retractable and extendable bridges on the new Fortune’s Keep map, which makes tactical games possible.
- Obviously, particularly powerful Wonderweapons are to be integrated, but they only have a limited supply of ammunition without the possibility of refilling.
- A new Squad Wipe Tracker on your HUD signals you as soon as you have killed the last member of a team. If you manage to completely eliminate another team in the following 90 seconds, you will receive a Squad Wipe Streak.
Crossover with The Walking Dead
In the course of Season 2, a new crossover event will bring well-known characters from The Walking Dead to Warzone, such as Rick Grimes and Michonne. These will then be temporarily available as Operator skins
