The Terminator game announced for 2023 now gets its first trailer and reveals some exciting new details alongside its name
The world of Terminator after the Skynet attack lends itself perfectly to a survival game: Humanity has been reduced to a few survivors who must fight their way through a world full of killer robots.
That’s probably what the developers of Terminator: Survivors thought. The open world survival game was fully unveiled today with a first trailer, after it had already been announced with a teaser in 2022. We summarize what we now know about the game for you
What does Terminator: Survivors promise?
At today’s event not too much of the Terminator Survivors game was shown either, you can watch the one-minute trailer right here:
We will learn more about the game at the latest on October 24, 2024, when Terminator: Survivors is released in Early Access on Steam A console release is planned for a later date. The most important details that we already know can be found here:
- Open World: We explore a large open world, either on foot or, as seen in the trailer, by car.
- Survival: According to the official descriptions, collecting resources definitely plays a role. We need them for ourselves and to expand our base. However, it is still unclear how extensive the crafting options and other survival aspects will be.
- Story: We can expect a complex story that features familiar characters but opens a new chapter in the Terminator universe. The survival game is set after the Skynet attack and before the founding of the resistance group around John Connor.
- Machines and Terminator: As can be seen in the trailer, machines and Terminators are constantly on the hunt for surviving humans. We are probably not completely without a chance and can also fight against them. But Skynet is not the only danger.
- Fighting other humans: Other survivors compete with us for valuable resources. So we can also fight against players, but we can also team up with them in co-op.
Although they rarely turn out great, games based on old movie brands are extremely popular with our editorial team and community. Games sometimes even manage to do something that remakes almost always fail to do
