The first DLC for Cities: Skylines 2 is not going down well with fans. For 10 euros it simply lacks content

After the disastrous launch of Cities: Skylines 2 developer Colossal Order was initially busy with damage limitation and postponed the DLC plans. The first additional content has been available to purchase for a few days now  “Beach Properties “ is intended to beautify players’ coastal areas, but they are missing a few things in the DLC – beaches, for example.

Cities: Skylines 2 – First DLC causes anger among fans

What does the DLC cost?  “Beach Properties” currently costs 10 Euro on Steam and can also be purchased in the “Waterfronts” bundle for 50 Euro . The other content will be released later in the year

What does the DLC contain? There are 70 new elements in total: These consist of:

  • Ten North American residential buildings with three levels (30 elements)
  • Ten European residential buildings with three levels (30 elements)
  • Six characteristic buildings
  • Four new trees

What the players say

In the reviews on Steam, users don’t have a good opinion of the DLC. Of the now just over 600 reviews,96 percent are negative

“Releasing a DLC with beachfront properties without beaches, promenades and quays is quite a decision. Not even any commercial buildings. But hey, you get four palm trees,” complains Adam

“That’s a shame,” says Quintkat, “the assets look nice, but for 10 euros there’s just far too little in this DLC. “

Kubakador is also unhappy with the assets: “This DLC is a joke that isn’t even worth a review. PS: This review has more content than the DLC. “

With “Beach Properties”, Colossal Order and publisher Paradox Interactive have probably not been able to win back the trust of the fans.

Since its release, Cities: Skylines 2 has at least made some progress with various patches and even in terms of mod support, things are at least slowly moving forward. How do you rate the current state of the game? Are the developers on the right track? What do you think of the DLC? Is the content worth the money or completely overpriced? Let us know your opinion in the comments.
