We dive into the insider tips on Steam that many people don’t have on their radar but are still well or very well received by players

Easter weekend! It’s all about bunnies laying eggs. Or something like that. Finally time to cuddle up with your loved ones – or play a few games that hardly anyone else has on their radar. We’ve tracked down five relatively unknown titles on Steam for you that are (sometimes surprisingly) living an underground existence, although many players have positive things to say about them

This time with unconventional building strategy, the reboot of a classic horror game and chic adventures in the watery post-apocalypse. Have fun with our five new game tips on Steam.

Age of Water

(Genre: Adventure – Steam-Release: March 21, 2024 (Demo) – PriceFree)

The trend towards free demos and prologues on Steam continues. In Age of Water: The First Voyage you sail a world completely covered by ocean after natural disasters. You explore various bases with self-built or stolen boats, sail through storms and settle in bases. You fight on the high seas and trade in loot

If you like the demo: The game will be released on April 18, 2024 as an Early Access version on Steam, then with multiplayer elements. The demo, on the other hand, is still limited to a purely single-player experience.

Bulwark

(Genre: Building Strategy – Steam-Release: March 26, 2024 – Price20 Euro)

Also equipped with a free demo, Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles dares to take a new approach in the build-up genre. You have a lot of creative freedom to build your own islands, which can be specialized as trading nodes or defense platforms, for example. This is how you leave your wet footprint in the open world.

The game is primarily aimed at casual players. So you shouldn’t expect a hardcore strategy game, but can tinker away in a relaxed manner without much training. The original graphic style is also worth mentioning.

Alone in the Dark

(Genre: Horror-Action – Steam-Release: March 20, 2024 – Price60 Euro)

Alone in the Dark, an insider tip?! We were surprised ourselves. Apparently hardly anyone noticed the release of the new reboot game in the 32-year-old horror series. Or maybe nobody is itching anymore. This is the only way to explain just over 600 Steam reviews and only 1,600 simultaneously active players

Of course, none of this detracts from a single-player game. In the modern Alone in the Dark, you return to the place where the horror story began in 1992: the creepy Derceto Manor in swampy Louisiana.

No Case Should Remain Unsolved

(Genre: Detective-Narrative – Steam-Release: January 17, 2024 – Price7 Euro)

Very text-heavy, graphically minimalistic, but much loved: In No Case Should Remain Unsolved you solve puzzles to solve a crime that happened a long time ago. To do so, you talk to people and follow a mysterious plot.

Senior Inspector Jeon Gyeong is actually long retired, but is drawn back into an old case that could never be solved by a young policewoman. The game falls into the category of interactive storytelling and requires a bit of brains and a love of puzzles.

Rail Route

(Genre: Public transport simulation – Steam release: February 22, 2024 – Price25 Euro)

Numbers and data are your secret love? With Rail Route you can use your hobbyhorse to design, optimize and manage the public transport network of real cities. Logic and organizational skills should be no strangers to you if you want to have fun here

Graphically, the game may not win any prizes, but Steam fans will love the many free options for creating and expanding the streetcar networks as efficiently as possible.
