The FaZe Clan once again underlines why the North American eSports organization is currently the measure of all things. In China, the team defeated MOUZ from Germany and can look forward to a trip to Cologne

In a high-class tournament, FaZe Clan ultimately prevailed against the competition from MOUZ. Both teams had to deal with the crème de la crème of the international Counter-Strike scene on their way to the final, which demanded a lot from the eventual finalists.

Confident with flaws

FaZe’s path to the final was particularly surprising. While the NA organization had seemingly effortlessly advanced to the final round in recent weeks and months, the eventual champions were beaten 2:0 early on by an extremely courageous Astralis. As a result, they only qualified for the playoffs in the lower bracket and at the last minute, so to speak.

The pressure should not ease here, quite the opposite. While FaZe didn’t concede a single card in the entire tournament, apart from the game against Astralis, the players had to sweat a lot in the playoffs. Both Team Liquid (quarter-final) and the renewed clash with Astralis (semi-final) demanded everything from the eventual winners.

Off to Germany!

It was only in the Grand Final that the roster seemed to have calmed down a little, which was also reflected in the final result. On both Overpass and Nuke, the FaZe Clan left nothing to be desired and ultimately secured prize money of 100,000 US dollars and, perhaps even more importantly, direct participation in this year’s IEM edition in Cologne. Loser MOUZ can still take home 42,000 US dollars
