Mistforks instead of magic: Astarion, Shadowheart and Co. will soon be part of Stardew Valley and want to be charmed by you again

For the heroes from Baldur’s Gate 3 it will soon be time to pack up the swords and get out the pitchforks! Because a new and very creative mod project has set out to bring the main characters of the acclaimed role-playing game to the pixelated farm idyll of Stardew Valley

This is what awaits you in the BG3 mod for Stardew Valley

The fan-developed Baldur’s Village mod not only adds a completely new map with buildings inspired by Baldur’s Gate to the popular indie game, but also brings iconic characters such as Astarion, Shadowheart, Gale and Halsin as new villagers.

The charming and extremely popular vampire spawn Astarion will even have a unique love story, as the developers promise. The small team of three from China has already released the first screenshots and concept art. These include lovingly pixelated portraits of the BG3 heroes Shadowheart and Astarion in Stardew style:

Although the modders call themselves amateurs, they plan to include romances and love stories for as many of your charismatic BG3 comrades as possible.

The ambitious project will be released on the NexusMods platform on August 3, 2024 on the first birthday of Baldur’s Gate 3  However, the scope of the first version will depend on how much the hobby developers manage to create by then

If you’re so excited about this idea that you can’t wait: There’s already another Baldur’s Gate 3 mod on NexusMods called Baldur’s Valley

This is much less extensive than the new project and only replaces the NPCs Elliott and Leah with Astarion and Karlach and adjusts their dialog. But if you really want to plow through the fields with Astarion or disappear into the barn with Shadowheart, you’ll have to be patient for another three months or so
