Yet Jeff Bridges returns for Tron: Ares For the third time, he will presumably take on the role of programmer Kevin Flynn, who has to cope in cyberspace in the film, which is due to be released in cinemas in 2025

Really excited about working with Jared Leto

In a new edition of the Film Comment Podcast the 74-year-old character mime (The Big Lebowski, Iron Man) confirms that he is back in front of the camera for Tron: Ares. According to Variety the shooting work has already been completed

He must have particularly enjoyed working with lead actor Jared Leto. In the podcast recorded before the start of filming, Jeff Bridges explains that he was really excited to work with the former Joker actor and admired his work 

He is not revealing any further information about the film It is already known that the film, which will be released 42 years after the first part, will be directed by Joachim Ronning (Maleficent, Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge).

The other cast members include Jared Leto, Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Hasan Minhaj, Jodie Turner-Smith, Arturo Castro, Cameron Monaghan and Gillian Anderson. The plot will revolve around the computer program Ares, played by Jared Leto, for which there is already a first image:

Bridges himself didn’t like the visual result either, as he explains in the podcast:

I didn’t like the way I looked [in Tron: Legacy]. I felt like I looked more like Bill Maher than myself. It was kind of bizarre.

In any case, the actor has some good news up his sleeve for Tron: Ares: according to him, the production will rely on less AI stuff and more practical sets instead.  I’ve seen some beautiful sets, he reveals.
