We may already know which Sith is up to mischief in the Star Wars series The Acolyte: Darth Tenebrous.

The Jedi of The Acolyte have a problem: A mysterious assassin is hunting them down. And it looks like he might have something to do with the Sith. About 100 years before the events of Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace, this is actually unthinkable! At least according to the Jedi Order

Does the Sith Darth Tenebrous play a role in The Acolyte?

The latest trailer for The Acolyte clearly shows that the dangerous adversary for Master Sol (Lee Jung-jae) is not to be underestimated. In it the Jedi assassin with the red lightsaber is almost staged like a horror movie villain.

Fans claim to have discovered a clue as to who the true villain of The Acolyte is: a Sith known in Star Wars Legends (i.e. the old canon) as Darth Tenebrous

What is this theory based on? In the new trailer for The Acolyte, a spaceship can be seen that strongly resembles the one described by Tenebrous in the novel Star Wars: Darth Plagueis. Tenebrous is the master of Plagueis, who in turn trained Palpatine to become Darth Sidious.

The fact that Darth Tenebrous could play a role in The Acolye would also work out in terms of the timeline. In addition, showrunner Leslye Headland (via starwars.com) has already indicated that she definitely wants to bring ideas and elements from the old canon into the new with her series.

In case you’re wondering who Darth Tenebrous is: The Bith, whose real name is Rugess Nome, was himself trained by Darth Ramage and worked as a developer of new and experimental starships. His first student was Darth Plagueis, by whom he would ultimately be killed.

Of course, it has not yet been confirmed that Tenebrous will actually appear or play a role in the new Star Wars series. We will find out more from June 5, 2024 at the latest&nbsp as soon as The Acolyte starts on Disney Plus.

Star Wars in the cinema will not continue until 2026 The Mandalorian & Grogu will be the first, while a film about Daisy Ridley as Rey and a film about the story of the first Jedi are in the works. And perhaps Rogue Squadron by Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins is actually still to come.
