When it comes to monetization, Sony is setting a good example with Concord – you can unlock all rewards for free
The upcoming hero shooter Concord is experiencing ups and downs:The game is really well received by people– but somehow hardly anyone wants to play the beta.
But maybe that will change soon, because the game now has good news:Concord will not have a Battle Pass and does not plan to sell one in the future. Instead, you should be able to collect enough cool rewards without spending any more money.

According to the developers at Firewalk Studios, Concord will instead focus on ensuring that playing the game, leveling up accounts and characters and completing achievements and games will reward you sufficiently

Mark DeRidder, Director of Gameplay Animation at Concord, writes on the X: “You own Concord, Concord doesn’t own you” – confirming that you shouldn’t be forced to complete daily missions and similar gimmicks in order to unlock all Battle Pass rewards at the end of the season.
This classic approach seems refreshing today, as many modern games are designed to generate additional revenue through Battle Pass systems, in-game stores, etc. EA Sports FC 25, for example, recently announced that there will even be a Battle Pass in career mode, which includes an optional, paid premium track.
Concord, on the other hand, will offer regular updates and new seasons after the launch, which will be available at no additional cost beyond the basic price of 40 euros.
In addition to the absence of a Battle Pass, Firewalk Studios announced that the game will include the first three in-game short films at launch, which expand the world and story of Concord. After the release, a further movie will be available to watch in the game every week
Concord will be released at the end of August and will be available via Epic, Steam and for PlayStation 5. Despite the rather low level of interest so far, the game could still find a loyal player base thanks to the positive initial impressions.
