A player notices a cool detail in Elden Ring after hundreds of hours – and promptly triggers fear and terror with his hero

Of course, there are countless secrets to discover in the world of Elden Ring – but even after hundreds of hours of play, there still seems to be room for surprises. One player recently shared his discovery on Reddit that the characters in the game actually blink

However, instead of garnering enthusiasm for this subtle detail, something completely different caught the community’s attention:the grotesque character the player had created.

What a terrible day to have eyes.

This Tarnished is anything but a typical hero: a thin, pale guy whose huge nose and oversized eyes – one blue, the other red – make him look like a creature from a nightmare.

Add to that blood splatters all over his body and you’d think H.P. Lovecraft himself had a hand in it.

After more than 800 hours I just noticed that our characters are actually blinking!!!

Thereactions on Redditwere not long in coming. The users were unanimous:This figure is not only unusual, but downright frightening – especially his stare:

  • The scariest shit I’ve ever seen
  • What a horrible day to have eyes
  • I miss the 30 seconds before, when I didn’t know this Tarnished existed.
  • Don’t you dare blink, it moves when you do.
  • He can blink… like a bloody lizard.

Not all users were so frightened, however, for some the sight of the figure was rather amusing:

  • I think that’s a homeless man from Liurnia. Give him some runes so he can buy crab cakes.
  • Is it getting hot in here or is it me
  • I almost thought I was looking in a mirror
  • Look at this gorgeous guy
  • I’m still not sure whether I see a chin or a neck

Although the blinking of the characters may have been a nice surprise for some, the grotesque appearance of this tarnished will probably be remembered for much longer.
