The first-person shooter has only been playable for a few hours and is already getting people up in arms

Not long ago, the new extraction shooterArena Breakout: Infinitewas praised to the skies and seemed to be a threat to the genre pioneer Escape from Tarkov. Now Early Access has started on the PC and the shooteris causing contrary emotions

The reason for this areserious Pay2Win accusations There are currently an increasing number of threads on Reddit focusing on the multiple payment options. But there are also many community members who are wondering why the gaming community expected anything else at all

This is criticized

Arena Breakout Infinite can currently be downloadedfree of chargeand played via the extraction shooterwebsite. As with almost all Free2Play games, you will of course be tempted to spend money through microtransactions

However, the store is not limited to cosmetic items or other useful, albeit not game-changing, benefits. In Arena Breakout, you can obtain the full range of equipment items for real money There are also many other ways to spend money. Here is an overview:

Your money is invested directly in bonds that you spend in the store.

In total, players receive tangible gaming benefits, provided they are prepared to open their wallets. As in many other stores, there is also acrazy conversion of numerous in-game currenciesthat disguise what an item actually costs in real currency

If I want to buy a breastplate for 450,000 Koen, I must first have 450 coins. Coins, in turn, are bought with bonds, so I need 1,000 bonds for 600 coins. In turn, 1,000 bonds cost 10 euros

The fans are angry

Fan complaints are now piling up on Reddit. Many had apparently hoped that the developers at MoreFun Studios would move away from aggressive mobile monetization for the PC version. But that didn’t happen

So Reddit user Rare_Lifegaurd_4403opens a threadwith the words:

You have destroyed your game with Pay2Win. Seriously, why? In case you don’t know, you can buy 10 million Koen right after the tutorial. The safe cases are subscribed to monthly. Why? Nobody wants this P2W crap. I’ve been excited about the game all week, I complete the tutorial and the first raid just to find this crap out. I’m not playing anymore until you guys remove the P2W aspect.

The entire front page of the game’s subreddit is currently littered with posts complaining about the in-game store. In another threadwrites G-SW-7892:

I was very impressed with the gameplay. The game really looked like fun and a breath of fresh air in a toxic market led by Escape from Tarkov. But what I see on social media and on Reddit shows me that ABI has made the toxic market even worse. The game is P2W whether you like it or not.

However, there are also users who note that the monetization was to be expected. After all, Arena Breakout was first released as a mobile game and relies on the same payment model there. However, fans often don’t accept this excuse. What do you think? Let us know in the comments:
