What kind of game is Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine?

You slip into the extra-thick armor of Captain Titus.&nbspYour Space Marine order, the Ultramarines, have been dispatched to keep law and order on the industrial world of Graia. A huge number of Orks have landed there

The greenskins are after a superweapon. And because orcs do orcish things and aren’t all that predictable, they have to be stopped. As befits a game with a Warhammer 40,000 license, you don’t choose the diplomatic route, but fight your enemies with chainswords and bolters.

This results inbrutal continuous action for around 8 hours– that’s how long the solo campaign lasts. However, the game does not have a cover system or puzzles for which you have to find a solution

In addition to the solo mode, there are three multiplayer modes in which different classes compete against or with each other in a classic team deathmatch, a co-op mode or a conquer-and-hold mode.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine was originally planned as a trilogy.After the release of the first part, two sequels were to follow. According to the developers, Captain Titus’ loyalty to the Adeptus Astartes was to be put to the test in these sequels.

But nothing came of it. The publisher THQ Entertainment filed for bankruptcy – and the developers had to abandon their project.
