With Season 6 in MW3 and Warzone, horror returns to Call of Duty

The final season of the MW3 era is on the horizon and Call of Duty wants to teach you to fear once again

The sixth season ofModern Warfare 3andWarzoneis all about Call of Duty’s Halloween theme “The Haunting ” The new map variants and skins are correspondingly spooky. The modes also focus on horror, of course. Here’s an overview of the most important new features:

Season 6 Release and Overview

The starting signal for Season 6 will be given on September 18, 2024 The new content usually goes live on all platforms at the same time from 6:00 p.m.

New weapons

Two new weapons will be unlockable for MW3 and Warzone directly at launch via the Battle Pass

  • TheDTIR 30-06is a combat rifle with a long range, slow rate of fire and high damage.
  • The light machine gunKastov LSWis particularly effective at close range thanks to its exceptionally fast rate of fire and high accuracy in a tactical stance.

Three conversion kits for weapons already in the game will be available via the weekly challenges

  • JAK Salvo(Sniper KATT-AMR): The weapon now fires explosive missiles.
  • JAK Volstorm(Stormender launcher): The weapon now fires a beam of energy that can hit multiple enemies.
  • JAK Lance(Shotgun MX Guardian): The weapon now fires three rivets per magazine.

There is currently no new equipment available this season

The new season is a little thinner than the previous ones. No wonder, because Black Ops 6 is already in the starting blocks for October 25, 2024. This is how it played in the beta:

New maps

  • Drive Thruis a new 6v6 map with a Halloween theme, based on a fast food store with a killer clown as a mascot.
  • Mad Cowis the Halloween variant of a well-known 6v6 map.
  • Shipmentin the variants Arena, Stay High, Bit-ment, Ghost Ship and Sunny Shipment
  • Hellspawnis a variant of the warzone map Rebirth Island
  • Vondel Nightis the night variant of the Warzone map

New modes

  • Hordepoint:Variant of the multiplayer mode Hardpoint with hordes of zombies
  • Arcade:Multiplayer mode with various power-ups
  • Mutation:Multiplayer moshpit where a team plays as powerful mutants
  • Incected:Multiplayer mode with an infected player who has to eliminate the others
  • Purgatory:Time-limited event mode on the Hellspawn map
  • Zombie Royale:Time-limited event mode on the Hellspawn and Vondel Night maps, killed players return as zombies

New events

  • The Haunting(September 18 – October 16)

In addition, there is of course the obligatory Battle Pass for 1,100 CoD Points and the Blackcell version for 30 euros. There you will find some of the Halloween skins listed above, others are sold in separate bundles. As always, there are numerous blueprints, tokens and other cosmetics in the Battle Pass. In addition, there is a new Ranked Season in MW3 and Warzone with new rewards.
