Insider tips and underground hits: We present you five games that are barely getting traction on Steam, even though the community is praising and celebrating them.

Not every pearl is found in a shell, some hide on Steam. Like every weekend, we present you with five insider tips that are attracting a lot of positive votes without making big headlines.

This time with stylish thug-bashing, a blasting beast and a kind of Vampire Survivors that could have been called Zombie Survivors. Enjoy this week’s Steam recommendations for the weekend!

Fallen Aces

(Genre: First-Person Shooter – Steam Release: June 14, 2024 (Early Access) – Price: 13 Euro)

Our author Peter is full of praise for Fallen Aces in the video above. Steam users are also celebrating the shoot’em up, in which we beat up a lot of crooks, for its comic style and breathless action, among other things.

We get behind a series of murders of the guardians of the noir city Switchblade City and use our fists and guns to send shady crooks to the afterlife.

Approval on Steam: 97 percent positive from over 4,100 reviewers.

I Am Your Beast

(Genre: First-person shooter – Steam release: September 10, 2024 – Price: 20 Euro)

Another celebrated shooter, but a bit less well known: I Am Your Beast; makes us secret agents shooting our way through sandbox levels to fulfill the orders of our slightly choleric superiors.

While there aren’t as many Steam reviews as for Fallen Aces (see above), they are almost exclusively positive. The game has been praised for its style and gameplay, and the difficulty level is said to be suitable for shooting game beginners.

Approval on Steam: 99 percent of over 700 reviewers vote positively.

Fatalzone

(Genre: Roguelike-Action – Steam-Release: September 17, 2024 – Preis: 5 Euro)

Bullet Heaven, Reverse Bullet Hell, Vampire-Survivors-like? Whatever you want to call the genre, Fatalzone is one of them. What all the genre representatives have in common: The screen is teeming with flashing action until we die or win.

In Fatalzone, we fight our way through ever-larger hordes of zombies and level up our character with new attacks and abilities that are executed automatically and send the undead back to hell.

Approval on Steam:70 percent of over 1,800 reviewers approve.

The Werecleaner

(Genre: Humor-Schleichspiel – Steam-Release: May 7, 2024 – Price: free)

A gift that won’t break the bank: the curious stealth game The Werecleaner doesn’t have a price tag, but it does have a night janitor who also happens to be a werewolf. And it has what many developers wish for: thousands of satisfied players.

We sneak through the levels where bloody crimes have taken place and clean the rooms while opponents make life difficult for us. Their dynamic behavior invites you to outmaneuver or eliminate them, depending on your preference.

Approval on Steam:99 percent positive from over 5,500 reviewers.

Megaloot

(Genre: Dungeon Crawler – Steam-Release: August 30, 2024 – Price: 10 Euro)

Another Roguelike in our list is called Megaloot and focuses on role-playing and dungeon crawling. The game is being published by, among others, the well-known German influencer Maximilian HandOfBloodKnabe.

As the name suggests, Megaloot focuses on the loot collected in the dungeons and inventory management. By the way, there’s a free Steam demo of Megaloot on Steam to try out.

Approval on Steam:79 percent of over 1,900 reviewers vote positively.
