Ninja adventure meets base-building game: a leak shows a previously secret base-building mode in the upcoming Japanese game.

Schaffe, schaffe, Häusle baue – The Swabian motto of life apparently applies not only in the supposedly most beautiful corner of Germany, but also in feudal Japan. At least that’s what a recent leak suggests.

Because as IGN China first reported, the upcoming Japan version of Ubisoft’s popular assassination series will also include an extensive base-building system that allows you to build your own assassin village. First images show that you can move and place buildings freely on a grid pattern, similar to on

The spicy part: The feature was previously secret and was only supposed to be officially presented at a later date Accordingly, Ubisoft is currently rushing to have the leaked images removed from the internet. You can still catch a glimpse of the video material from our colleagues at Kotaku or in the Reddit thread below:

Assassin’s Creed Shadows has sim-like base building where you manually place houses

Significantly more extensive than in Valhalla

With the base-building mechanic, Assassin’s Creed Shadows takes a similar approach to its predecessor AC Valhalla. In the Viking offshoot, you could already expand your settlement Ravensthorpe with new buildings – although you could only build them in predetermined places.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows, on the other hand, allows you to place new buildings within your village freely and create paths – provided they follow the limits of the grid. You can also demolish or redesign existing buildings as you wish; in addition, you can construct decorative objects such as stone lanterns and fountains.

However, you should not expect a sophisticated and detailed editor for buildings like in Fallout 4 or Starfield here.

We don’t know much about the significance of your village in Assassin’s Creed Shadows so far.In Valhalla, however, players always returned to their home base between missions.

However, building a village in Shadows would make perfect sense from a story point of view: We already know that Naoe’s home village is burnt to the ground by the troops of general Oda Nobunaga at the beginning of the story. During the course of the game, we could rebuild the village accordingly and thus create a home base for our own ninja clan.

Until Assassin’s Creed Shadows is released, you’ll have to be patient Publisher Ubisoft recently postponed the game by three months. The current release date is February 14. However, Ubisoft is now planning to release the game on Steam.
