New on Steam: A sci-fi legend makes its comeback this week

It’s going to be an action-packed week on Steam, but role-playing and building fans also have exciting releases to look forward to.

This week, Steam is once again releasing a lot of exciting content.And it’s not just mech enthusiasts who are getting their money’s worth – action adventure, role-playing, city-building and other game fans also have exciting new releases to look forward to.

Highlight of the week: Mechwarrior 5: Clans

(Genre: Action-Simulation – Developer: Piranha Games – Release: October 17 (Steam)

In; MechWarrior 5: Clans; you take on the role of a young pilot of Clan Smoke Jaguar and experience the epic Clan Invasion of the Inner Sphere ; first hand.

You lead a five-man mech team through a story campaign that takes place on different planets with varied biomes. You can also customize your mechs with advanced clan technology, of course. And as always, it’s not just about pure firepower.

Helpful: A new feature called Battle Grid and a revised command wheel give you more control over your team; thanks to the Unreal Engine 5, the new Mechwarrior offers detailed environments and dynamic destruction that give the battles a necessary impact.

  • Up to Par: Miniature golf meets roguelite as you unlock new skills after every putt.

Tuesday October 15

  • Neva: The new game from Nomada Studios is reminiscent of their last titleGris – a jump and run with picturesque graphics and a moving story.

    • Drova – Forsaken Kin: A dark open-world role-playing game that, despite its 2D look, has a lot in common with the Gothic series.

    • DayZ Frostline: The long-running online survival game is getting its first major expansion, which includes a new, huge winter map for you to explore.

      Wednesday, October 16

      • Eden Crafters (Early Access): Humanity needs a new home, so you have to take care of it, alone or in co-op. You choose a planet, craft and automate like crazy, transforming dangerous landscapes into a habitable paradise. And yes: there are conveyor belts too, of course!

      Thursday, October 17

      • Unknown 9: Awakening: In this action-adventure, you take on the role of an Indian girl with supernatural powers. A first play session didn’t quite convince us, even though the trailer looks pretty cool:

      • Arizona Sunshine Remake: The original is considered one of the best shooters for VR headsets. Around eight years after its release, a remastered version is available with a new look and many fresh features.

      • Citadelum: Build cities in ancient Rome. Construct buildings, collect resources, send your legionnaires into battle and, on the side, strive to win the favor of the gods.

      • A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead: In this stealth horror game based on the film series of the same name, you have to be quiet as a mouse – otherwise the alien invaders will make short work of you.

      Friday, October 18

      • RetroRealms Arcade: Finally, there is a virtual arcade where you can play various horror jump’n’runs. Among others, there are games about Ash Williams (Evil Dead), Laurie Strode and Michael Myers (both Halloween). However, each game has to be purchased individually via Steam.
