In response to a new enemy variant of the Automatons, Helldivers fans are sharing new weapon tips.
The Galactic War in Helldivers 2 is taking a new turn: as announced in an in-game emergency warning on the bridge of all ships, a new and improved variant of the automaton force is on the march!
The new threat, known as the “Jet Brigade”, was first spotted on the planet Matar Bay. Apparently the bots have now caught wind of the construction of the DSS space station and are specifically attacking this sector.
The defense of Matar Bay has been declared a marching order for all players. Players are mobilizing on Reddit, YouTube and other social media to defend against the new automaton attack.
What are these new enemies?
The Jet Brigade are a kind of sub-faction of the Automatons and consist of troopers who carry a new jetpack variant. This is what it looks like:

As you can quickly see, the Jet Brigade bots can close the gap on unsuspecting Helldivers and deal some serious damage!
There are three variants:
- Standard Assault Trooper (laser rifle)
- Commissar (pistol and sword)
- MG Raider (rapid fire)
The three archetypes cover great distances (and heights) in the shortest possible time and then switch to close combat, while also having slightly increased health points.
The big weakness
The Automaton jetpacks are extremely vulnerable to damage and a single hit with almost every weapon in the game will cause them to explode immediately if you aim carefully.
But be careful: If you stand too close to an enemy of the Jet Brigade, you might be pulled along by the explosion!

In it, other Helldivers are strongly advised to keep a sufficient distance from the explosive new enemies. In addition, the following weapons are said to provide an advantage:
- LAS-7 Dagger Pistol against jumping enemies
- AC-8 Autocannon against groups of enemies
- Lift-850 Jump Pack for quick maneuvering
It remains to be seen whether players can win by developing new tactics and customizing their weapons, and whether the DSS space station will ultimately be besieged by robots.
