After World War II destroyed most of Japan, the economy hit rock bottom. As if that wasn’t enough, the giant lizard Godzilla also appeared and caused even more destruction. Nevertheless, the local residents did not give up without a fight and tried to defend themselves against the attack.

Godzilla Minus One ran from December 1, 2023in this country in selected cinemas. Currently you can also watch the movie on Netflix. The streaming provider added the film to its program in the summer of 2024 without much advance notice.

In fact, the oversized lizard is already celebrating its 70th birthday this year, and Godzilla Minus One should duly celebrate this milestone. Toho Pictures succeeded in doing so, because the film won the 2024 Oscar for best visual effects. So from now on it is an Oscar-winning monster.
