The first Double XP Weekend of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 should actually be over by now, but it was plagued by so many problems that Treyarch extended the deadline.
In no CoD in recent years have weapons levelled up as slowly as in Black Ops 6. And that’s doubly tragic, because if you want to climb all the prestige levels, you have to unlock the guns multiple times – a challenge that we don’t shy away from, of course, but still have to somehow overcome. And that’s exactly what double XP weekends were created for!
At least in theory, because in practice, the first event weekend of Black Ops 6 caused all sorts of problems. According to Treyarch, a bug caused many players to receive no double XP at all.
Last night, we identified and resolved an issue that occasionally limited the amount of 2XP awarded to some players.

The new deadlines of the Double XP
-Action
You will therefore receive double experience points for all progressions in the game up to and including November 5, 2024 , i.e. weapon XP, your player level, and Gobblegums for Zombie Mode. The only thing left out is Battle Pass XP, because… well… there isn’t a Battle Pass yet. The deadline for the extension is at 7pm German time Realistically speaking, you can still use an hour and a half of free time to level up.
Update: Last night we addressed an issue that occasionally limited the amount of 2XP awarded to some players as we continue to assess and balance progression tuning.
As a result, we are extending 2XP, 2X Weapon XP, and 2X GobbleGum earn rate until Nov. 5th at 10 am/PT. https://t.co/vlIZYlSSRJ

Beyond the double XP promotion, there are a few tricks you can use to speed up the levelling process. Our tip: Focus on the small Strike Maps and the Kill Confirmed mode. The tokens will earn you massive points and make it easier for you to farm Scorestreaks, which in turn will help you earn even more points – for example, with the helicopter.
Alternatively, jump into the current Nuketown playlist, because the small map is perfect for collecting XP!
Another option, especially for weapon XP, are the double XP tokens from monster cans that you can activate for Black Ops 6. We only recommend this if you keep energy cans in the fridge anyway, we’re not advertising here, after all.
Or you can just wait until November 15, 2024. That’s when the first season of Black Ops 6 starts, including the Battle Pass, which usually contains tons of double XP tokens that let you level up rank and weapons much faster.
