At release, Stalker 2 still has some technical improvements to make. The developers are therefore announcing several hotfixes.
After numerous delays, alarming and hopeful previews and 14 years after its predecessor, Stalker 2 is finally here. But the odyssey is not quite over for fans and developers yet. Because you have to expect a lot of bugs and technical problems in the huge open-world shooter at release.
The developers also recognize that there is still a lot to be fixed in their message about the release and promise to improve soon.
This is the plan for Stalker 2
A message from the GSC Game World Team.

In their message to fans, the developers express their pride that the shooter is finally finished. However, they also point out that this is a huge game and they have never released anything on this scale before.
Therefore, there could still be rough edges that need to be ironed out. However, they are committed to paying close attention to player feedback and to fixing urgent issues as quickly as possible.
The developers also outline their strategy: in the first few days after release, minor hotfixes will be released to address the most important bugs. Among other things, the following issues will be addressed:
- In the
quest Just Like the Good Old Days
, an important quest item is barely distinguishable from its surroundings - During
The Freedom Colosseum
, players cannot participate in the fourth round in the arena, even though they meet all the requirements. - The torchlight button assignment cannot be changed.
- The game sometimes crashes after selecting the difficulty level.
- A memory leak causes problems with the display of faces.
Subsequently, larger updates will be released that will also bring undefined improvements
into the game. Finally, the developers promise free new content , which will be presented in more detail in a roadmap in December.
Currently, however, no patches have been released and in the current state, we are issuing a purchase warning for Stalker 2 in the test. If you still want to enter the zone immediately, we won’t leave you hanging. We have experimented extensively and our Tuning Guide will show you which settings will get you the most FPS out of the shooter.
