A free game every day, that’s what the Epic Game Store’s Christmas promotion promises. We’ll reveal when it starts and more info here.
Every year, not only does the Christ Child come, but also the Epic advent calendar! For about two weeks, there will be free games to be had here every day – and not just small indie titles.
- When does it start? On December 19, the first door will open, which will close again after one day. So you only have 24 hours to get the respective games!
- When does the promotion end?The last game of the promotion will be revealed on January 2. You will then have another week to access it.
- How many games are included in the Epic Advent Calendar? A total of 15 free games are planned for Christmas, including the current free game. You can find more information below.
- Which games are included? It is not yet known exactly which titles are behind the
Mystery Games
But a look at the past gives a rough idea:
In recent years, the Advent calendar included a mix of smaller indie titles, major AAA projects, and games that were already included in Epic’s weekly free promotion. Last year’s lineup included Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, A Plague Tale: Innocence, and Ghostrunner, among others.
What free games are available now?
The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria
The daily changing games don’t start until December 19, but Return to Moria is officially part of the Christmas promotion. The title has been available since December 12, and you can still get it at the Epic Store until December 19 at 4:59 p.m. The survival game sends you into the legendary mines that Frodo and his companions in The Lord of the Rings have already entered. As a dwarf, you are to reclaim the old homeland and push back the creatures of darkness. It’s best not to do this alone, but in co-op mode with up to seven other dwarf friends. But the Epic store is not alone in the Christmas spirit. On Steam, the Winter Sale also starts on December 19. On GOG, the discount promotion has been active since December 12.
