With a Humble subscription, you can save a lot of money every month. The January Monthly Bundle should make strategy lovers especially happy.

Humble Bundle always has great offers where you can get games for significantly less than you would pay directly on Steam. The current Humble Monthly offer is particularly worthwhile, because for just ten dollars this time you get eight games worth over $200. Among them are some really excellent titles.

In January, the Humble game subscription is particularly worthwhile for strategy fans – and there are a lot of them among GlobalESportNews readers.

But the best thing about it is that with your Humble subscription, not only do you get a few cheap Steam keys to expand your game library, but you also automatically donate money to charity. That’s because 5% of every Humble membership goes to charities that change monthly.

In January, you can support the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which grants the wishes of terminally ill children.

These games are available for $10 in January

Highlight 1: Jagged Alliance 3

Jagged Alliance 3 is a turn-based strategy game with role-playing elements that lets you lead a group of tough-as-nails elite mercenaries in the fictional country of Grand Chien And because no mission is too difficult for your troop, you are the ones who are called to help when the president is kidnapped by rebels.

You command the skirmishes from the isometric perspective; with the help of active pause, you can orient yourself and give orders. An almost completely destructible environment and a high degree of tactical diversity draw you into the action in a credible way. Your decisions have a noticeable effect over the course of the match and a sense of drama is virtually guaranteed thanks to features like friendly fire.

In his follow-up review, our tester and strategy expert Martin Deppe found that Jagged Alliance 3 successfully continues the long-standing strategy series thanks to its challenging turn-based tactical battles, the well-thought-out strategy part and the cool mercenaries from back in the day. That’s why the game got the top rating of 90 from us in the test.

Highlight 2: Against the Storm

Against the Storm is a city-building game that skillfully combines the classic aspects of the genre with survival elements and roguelite mechanics, all topped off with a generous helping of fantasy. The result is an exciting mix that will challenge you as a city planner time and again.

In the campaign, you build new settlements in the hostile area surrounding the capital on behalf of the queen. You not only supply hard-working citizens, but also have to take into account the needs of beavers, lizards, harpies and foxes. The randomly generated maps conceal different resources and events, but also real dangers. This makes every settlement project different, and you have to develop new strategies throughout.

Against the Storm was released in its final version in December 2023 after a two-year early access phase, adding a wealth of content to the refreshing city-building game. You can read about how good the dark and complex city-builder ultimately is in the detailed review that we’ve linked to above.

More games in the January Humble Monthly Bundle:

The sequel is a consistent further development of its predecessor; the fights are demanding but gripping, the game world entices with a dark atmosphere and lore.
