We already know Garp, and we are still waiting for Ace. Now, for season 2 of the Netflix series One Piece, Luffy’s father has been cast.

The cast of the live-action adaptation of One Piece continues to grow!Netflix has announced six new actors for season 2– including a relative of Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy).

And no, we don’t mean Luffy’s brother Portgas D. Ace, who, given the manga template, should also play a role in season 2 of the Netflix series. It remains to be seen who will play the fire fist of the Whitebeard pirate gang.

At this point, however, we want to issue a small spoiler warning as a precaution.Because in the manga and anime, it was not known for a long time that the following character is Luffy’s father. The Netflix series could also make a small mystery out of it.

Who is Luffy’s father in One Piece?

Still here? Then let’s get right to the point: in season 2 of One Piece, Rigo Sanchez (Outer Banks, Seattle Firefighters) appears as Monkey D. Dragon

In the Netflix series, Dragon made his debut in chapter 100, or episode 52, in the middle of the Loguetown arc, which has already been confirmed for season 2. It was only much later that Eiichiro Oda revealed that Monkey D. Dragon is Luffy’s father – in episode 314 of the anime, to be precise.

In fact, not much is known about Monkey D. Dragon to this day, while One Piece currently boasts 1,128 chapters. And that’s despite the fact that Luffy’s father, as the leader of the revolutionaries, is waging an all-out war against the Navy and the World Government. To this day, we don’t even know what kind of abilities Dragon has or whether he has eaten a devil fruit!

Whether the Netflix series will shed more light on this remains to be seen. After all, season 1 of One Piece with Navy Vice Admiral Monkey D. Garp (Vincent Regan) Ruffys grandfather introduced the character much earlier than the manga and anime and made no secret of his identity.

Which actors will join One Piece season 2?
