The second major post-release patch for Avowed takes care of audio problems, reluctant companions, and, above all, buggy quests.
The new role-playing game from developer Obsidian is getting a new update with numerous improvements. Avowed was released on February 18 and was followed shortly thereafter by an extensive patch, patch 1.2.2.
The new update is not quite as big, but it fixes serious bugs in some quests that could not be completed due to bugs.Patch 1.2.3 is already live on all platforms.
No more plot stoppers
The new patch fixes a few major and minor bugs in some quests, such as:
- Ofryc now appears in Paradis as intended.
- Sanza now rewards you properly when you turn in the first card.
- «Shadow of the Past» continues correctly if you enter Naku Kubel directly.
- Various quest markers are now displayed correctly.
- Some parts of the end credits that are based on your decisions now play correctly.

Audio issues, companions, and more
Music volume has been adjusted during some story moments, and the sound of some abilities is now played correctly.
Your pets will assist you more reliably in combat, and they will no longer disappear after skipping a cutscene.
In addition, patch 1.2.3 contains some more general bug fixes. For example, the camera no longer jumps up briefly when you open a small chest and your character no longer leaves the crouch briefly when doing so.
The brief moment of floating after opening a sarcophagus is also no longer present and if you have designed your build around the item Arcane Veil: With the update, there was a strong nerf.
Avowed came out well in the international tests with low 80s ratings on average. This is a result that we also came to in our GlobalESportNews tests. You can find out more about both in the articles in the box above. There you will also find an overview of all possible endings of the game and how you can influence them with your gameplay decisions.
