hide HUD, FoV slider, more talent points: the patch notes for 1.3 focus on community requests. But Avowed also gets a lot of bug fixes and improvements.
Obsidian Entertainment has implemented numerous improvements and bug fixes for Avowed with the new update 1.3.
The main focus is on new convenience features, advanced control customization, and optimizations to game stability and the quest mechanics.
One wish that was often expressed by players was for a more balanced talent point allocation. With the update, characters will now receive additional talent points upon reaching levels 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30. Those who have already passed these thresholds will receive the points retroactively.
What players want
Another frequently requested improvement for the role-playing game concerns the controls: PC players of Avowed can now switch between walking and running at the touch of a button. The user interface has also been made more flexible.
Those who like to play immersively or simply want to take beautiful screenshots can now hide the HUD with a keystroke In addition, a transparency slider allows you to adjust the opacity of the interface elements individually.
In addition, there is a field-of-view controller for the third-person view and the compass can now be fixed to point north.
More bug fixes and repaired quests
In addition to these adjustments, the update addresses general game stability and fixes crash causes
Patch 1.3 also improves quest mechanics. For example, the “Quest Available” icon for Ranger Verano no longer appears when the corresponding task is already inaccessible. The likelihood of getting stuck in certain missions has been reduced.
Avowed’s combat system will be further refined in version 1.3. Pistols will hit their targets more reliably, while pets will no longer inadvertently electrify the player with the shock status. Enemies also react noticeably to arrow impacts and ranged attackers behave more intelligently when the player moves in and out of cover.
In addition to this, spells can now be cast more reliably because reduced essence costs are now properly taken into account. The ability “Into the Fray” can now transition more quickly into other actions, enabling smoother combat.
The list of bug fixes goes on: Fast travel is disabled during certain animations to prevent disappearing quest items. And in a welcome change for collectors, loot in certain areas no longer drops through the ground, so it’s always accessible.
Publisher Microsoft is reportedly pleased with the sales figures for Avowed. Although the title “only” managed to attract a maximum of 19,000 players at once on Steam, it is said to have sold over 100,000 copies in the first week after release. Obsidian is committed to optimizing the player experience through regular updates – a sign that the title will be supported in the long term. A DLC is said to be in development already.
