Nvidia has finally released a new driver that should address numerous game crashes, black screens, and issues with DLSS.
Since its release, Nvidia’s RTX 50 generation has been struggling with numerous problems. Several bugs and crashes have also been reported on the driver side. The issue has become so serious that some development studios are actively advising against using the (then) current 572.83 driver for their games.
Now, the Nvidia driver 576.02 WHQL is supposed to fix the problem. This also serves as the release driver for the RTX 5060 Ti, which celebrated its launch on April 16, 2025.
Nvidia 576.02: More than 40 bug fixes
Given the length of the update notes, it is not unlikely that Nvidia waited for this exact day to release the new driver, as Videocardz writes; after all, 576.02 contains more than 40 fixed issues. As always, you can find the download on the usual Geforce driver website or via the Nvidia app.
The bug fixes themselves can be roughly divided into three categories:
Game crashes and freezes
The games mentioned at the beginning, Inzoi and The First Berserker: Khazan, which were not recommended by the previous Nvidia driver for the RTX 5000, are mentioned by name in the patch notes for 576.02 WHQL: Game crashes caused by the DirectX graphics infrastructure should no longer occur.
According to Nvidia, crashes after prolonged interactivity (Star Wars Outlaws) or with certain DLSS settings have also been fixed.
Display and graphics errors
In general, Nvidia promises fewer dithering effects in the RTX 50 series, as well as fixes for display errors caused by V-Sync or frame generation.
In games such as Control, graphics artifacts and image flickering should be a thing of the past with 576.02 WHQL.
Stability and display issues
According to Nvidia, the repeatedly reported stability issues under Windows 11 24H2 have also been fixed with 576.02 WHQL. The RTX graphics cards that produced a black screen instead of the normal display should now also work.
However, some issues remain unresolved: Among other things, Nvidia mentions game crashes in Cyberpunk 2077 and Red Dead Redemption 2 that can occur with the RTX 50 series.
