There was plenty of movement in the bestseller list last week, but the leader still holds its own.
There are times when little changes in the Steam bestseller list. But then there are also those weeks when hardly a stone is left unturned – just as has been the case in the past few days. In fact, hardly a single place has remained unchanged. Especially newcomers like the action RPG The Ascent or the flashy Orcs Must Die! 3 can directly secure the top positions – but one game doesn’t care about all that.
New World maintains its top position
The previous week, New World didn’t exactly show its sociable side, which is why it claimed the first two places for itself. Now there is hardly any room for other titles on the podium, because gold and silver still go to the Amazon MMO. This is due to the fact that the game is sold in a normal version and a deluxe version, which Steam counts and lists individually.
Third place among the bestsellers goes to The Ascent, the action role-playing game with a strong cyberpunk vibe. So despite a technically very bumpy start, the title seems to have found a lot of buyers.
Many new faces in the top 10
There was a lively shake-up in the places behind. The survival adventure Tribes of Midgard manages a more than solid start directly into fourth position. The orcs, who hope for the most creative demise possible in Orcs Must Die! 3, made themselves comfortable in fifth place. The VR goggles Valve Index takes sixth place, while Grand Theft Auto 5 lands right behind it in 7th.
Then, in 8th place, another newcomer: Battlefield 1 makes a return to the bestseller list. This is probably due to the ongoing discount campaign, which currently allows you to save a whopping 88 per cent on the purchase of the multiplayer shooter. By the way, if you have an Amazon Prime subscription, you can get the game completely free for two days and then get the next part of the series right away:
The penultimate rank is perhaps a little more surprising, because there sits the Gold Edition of Hitman 2, which was also reduced last week, so that the bald assassin can be happy about a small comeback. Finally, 10th place is something for friends of flowing traffic. Because in Mini Motorways, that’s exactly what you’re tasked with: designing the smoothest possible traffic network for an ever-growing city.
