Many players and press are excited after the first beta weekend.

Halo Infinite seems well on its way to giving Call of Duty: Vanguard and Battlefield 2042 some real competition for the 2021 multiplayer crown. At least that’s what the reactions suggest to an early version that was playable on PC and Xbox from 29 July to 2 August 2021 for selected users of the Halo Insider programme.

This technical beta was primarily intended for debugging purposes and was mainly limited to bot matches against AI opponents in the 4vs4 mode Team Slayer (better known as Team Deathmatch).

Over the course of the weekend, more and more enthusiastic voices came forward on Twitter to praise Halo Infinite’s multiplayer for its fluid and grippy gameplay.

Many players were particularly positive about:

– Rich and satisfying gunplay/hit feedback

– Fast and very direct movement

– Map design allows for different play styles

We would also like to pick up a few quotes from Twitter and let the players themselves have their say. For example, Jez Corden from the online magazine Windows Central writes: “Time to admit they hit the nail on the head with Halo Infinite’s multiplayer. ”

Analyst and industry watcher Benji-Sales writes that he is now more convinced than ever about Halo Infinite. In terms of gameplay, it is 343 Industries’ best Halo and impresses with great art design, a good weapon feel and successful map design:

IGN’s Destin Legarie agrees and is now convinced: “If the pre-release version is already this good, then I can hardly wait for the real release. ”

And Halo modder and Youtuber Vigilant Phanton even writes that for him Infinite is already the best part since Halo 3:

There is still no date for the next test phase and no fixed release date for Halo Infinite. However, it is certain that the shooter will be released at the end of 2021 and that the multiplayer part will be released as a Free2Play game. This will be financed via a Battle Pass, which has received a lot of approval from fans due to its customer-friendly model.
