Numerous changes are coming to Pokémon Unite. The MOBA from Nintendo and Tencent is getting an update with patch notes on August 4. While Jungler Gengar will be generated, defensive specialist Relaxo and boss opponent Zapdos will remain untouched.

Developer Tencent brings the first massive patch for Pokémon Unite. Two weeks after the release of the free2play MOBA, an update will take place on August 4 at 5am. It was already announced on Tuesday what the new features will be.

The list of patch notes mainly includes bug fixes as well as numerous Pokémon buffs and nerfs. In addition, Tencent is introducing a “Spectate Feature” as a test variant. This trial run is valid from 4 to 6 August.

Gengar gets urgent nerf, no changes to Zapdos boss fight
The strength of the spirit Pokémon Gengar has been the subject of debate among players and on all social media platforms. This is because the fast character usually quickly became overpowered after levelling up in the Jungle. The patch now reacts accordingly and provides the “Hex” attack with a downgrade.

Hex has caused massive damage as a multi-executable attack in combination with Sludge Bomb and often provided one-on-three victories. Alternatively, Gengar’s other previously neglected attacks are slightly strengthened. Nevertheless, the sprinter’s greatest strength to date is curtailed.

Meanwhile, positional competitor Zeraora’s Wild Charge attack will be improved – with increased damage and reduced cooldown. How significant the changes will be in numbers, however, is unknown. Precise numerical adjustments are missing from the patch notes.

On the other hand, the popular fire Pokémon Glurak will receive several buffs. The cooldown of “Flamethrower” and “Fire Blast” will be reduced, while the effects of these attacks on opponents will be strengthened. There is also a similar attack boost for the all-rounder’s attack “Fire Punch”.

On the other hand, an adjustment for the boss Zapdos, which many players had hoped for, failed to materialise. People often complain that the fight for the legendary Pokémon in the final minutes influences the game too much and allows massive comebacks. Tank Relaxo, who is difficult to defeat even when outnumbered, also received no change.

The following Pokémon can also be found on the patch’s list:

– Glurak (Allrounder)
– Fiaro (Sprinter)
– Bisaflor (Attacker)
– Absol (Sprinter)
– Knuddeluff (Supporter)
– Cottomi (Supporter)
– Liberlo (Attacker)
– Gengar (Sprinter)
– Zeraora (Sprinter)
– Urgl (Attacker)
– Machomei (Allrounder)
– Lucario (Allrounder)
– Quajutsu (Attacker)
– Alola Vulnona (Attacker)
