The new hordemode Call to Arms in Red Dead Online pours out lots of dollars and gold bars. The whole thing is time-limited.

(Lots of gold bars and dollars currently waiting in RDO’s new Horde mode.)

Red Dead Online entices with a new Horde mode: In “Call to Arms”, players compete against waves of onrushing enemies in five locations. In total, you have to survive ten of these stages to get the full reward.

A lot of gold and dollars: The reward for Call to Arms is considerable compared to other activities in the Western MMO. The insider “Tez2” notes that a whole three gold bars and around 850 dollars will be paid out when players reach the final wave in Call to Arms

The gold reward is what makes it special: Normally, Red Dead Online pays out the real money currency in small nuggets that only represent fractions of a bar. For example, there is 0.35 gold for a successful bounty hunt – as a reward measured according to the time required. Or players earn a predefined 0.1 gold for one of the daily challenges, whose yield can be increased through streaks.

So it is quite unusual that players can earn three counters of real money in one go. After all, Rockstar sells 25 gold bars for around ten euros. And 850 dollars is also a nice chunk of money in Red Dead Online.

Time limited action

Those who are excited now and want to add to their gold holdings will have to be quick, though. As Rockstar explains, the juicy bonus is limited to this week. Those who play Call to Arms this week will therefore receive triple gold, experience points and dollars.

This makes it especially worthwhile for cowboys to play the new mode at the moment. After all, clothing and weapon embellishments are often painfully expensive. It can cost as much as four gold bars for a gold-plated barrel or similar status symbols. The Quick Draw Club, a kind of Battle Pass in Red Dead Online, is also not cheap at 25 gold. However, the pass also contains the 25 gold, which you can invest in the next edition.

Recently, Red Dead Online got new content with the update Blood Money, which revolves around the criminal underworld. Players have to track down a secret currency, complete multi-level missions, commit plenty of crimes and, in the end, steal three big rocks for a well-dressed Mafioso.
