Forza Horizon 5 features the largest map in series history. We show you the coolest places you must visit for the release.
It won’t be too much longer until Forza Horizon 5, currently the most anticipated racing game, is released. Almost exactly three months before the release in November, Microsoft has finally revealed the complete map of the open game world – and it is full of cool details.
We took a closer look at the biggest map in the history of the series and show you the most exciting places you should definitely visit in the finished game.
The Forza Horizon 5 Map Highlights
Volcano: In the northwest of the map is the volcano La Gran Caldera, but you will probably be able to see it from anywhere on the map due to its sheer size. You can access the mountain from two different directions: In the west there’s an unpaved off-road track, while from the east you can reach the top via a paved road.
However, it is not yet clear whether you will be able to scrap your luxury cars by jumping into the glowing lava. At least steaming magma can be seen on the first screenshots:
Ruins: As always, the map is not a 1:1 replica of the real world, but a mixture of fantasy buildings and real cities and sights. Particularly exciting in Mexico are the Mayan ruins, which are scattered all over the map. In the middle of the map you will find Teotihuacán, the former metropolis of the Central American natives. Here you can discover, among other things, the world-famous Temple of the Sun.
Dunes: After many players sorely missed them in Forza Horizon 4, there are finally real dunes again in the upcoming spin-off. In the west of the map is the Dunas Blancas (White Dunes) region, which should be perfect for cross-country and off-road races. We already got a brief glimpse of this part of the map at the end of the Motorsound trailer, in which you can also listen to the sound of the desert buggies again:
Highway: Perhaps nothing special visually, but all the more interesting from a game point of view is the incredibly long highway that runs centrally across the map from west to east. The highway is almost completely straight and thus offers the perfect opportunity to test the top speed of hypercars like the Lamborghini Aventador (or your Opel Manta).
How big is the map? When Forza Horizon 5 was announced, the developers promised that the new map would be at least 1.5 times as big as the map from the predecessor. Fans have already made a first size comparison between the two maps, which you can see here:
