The teaser clip for Battlefield 2042 introduces Specialist Irish, who returns to BF4 and takes on the Engineer class. The video focuses on his gadget, the Fortification System, which allows Irish to dig in and defend positions. The defensive package consists of two components:

– DCS Mobile Cover: Irish sets up a mobile shield that protects him and his comrades from enemy fire. Bulletproof glass provides a tactical advantage.

– APS 36 Guard System: This inconspicuous device is placed on the ground and then deflects enemy grenades, rockets and other explosive projectiles through a hard-kill system.

The gameplay shows new clips on the map Renewal, which is set in the desert of Egypt and consists of a greened high-tech facility and dry canyons.

Exciting detail on the side: At the end of the clip, Irish uses an AK-12 with a drum magazine that apparently holds 60 rounds and allows longer continuous fire without reloading. This attachment has not been seen in any of the trailers so far.
