Why one weapon when two are much better? We have the right strategy and loadout for the new CoD shotgun Marshal.

Double firepower and alleged one-shot potential: The new Marshal has been available in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone since Wednesday. Here’s how you can best play the new weapon.

With the weapon ready in your arsenal, it’s time to find the right tactics and loadout.

One-Shot? Only with two marshals at the same time

Probably the biggest disadvantage to consider with the marshal is: enemies cannot be eliminated with just a single shot when playing with only one shotgun – especially not when they are fully equipped. As a rule, two shots are needed for a kill. Moreover, it takes quite a long time to reload the weapon and there is no possibility to increase the magazine.

However, the shotgun can be played with the akimbo attachment, which means that two weapons can be operated simultaneously. In double-handed mode, however, the range is not particularly impressive and there is no good way to better control the hip-fire spread. With two marshals, shooting is simply “loose from the hip” without a scope. This tactic is used especially at short range, as it brings the fastest rate of fire. However, accuracy is sacrificed in the process.

Gun with shotgun ammunition

Although the weapon is in the pistol category, it uses shotgun ammunition. Therefore, the Marshal should also be played as a shotgun. This underlines the high inaccuracy and the large spread of the bullets. So if you go after your opponents with two Akimbo Marshals and hit them both at short range, you are sure to be eliminated. However, one should be quite fast before the opponent can make his move.

As a weapon barrel, it is advisable to choose a 6.5″ cut down barrel. This provides a little more accuracy and more damage. Depending on your play style, Dragon’s Breath can also help with ammunition to provide more damage over time. Generally, though, the standard ammo is advantageous, as you want to deal as much burst damage as possible right away.

Overall, the Marshal is more of a gimmick than a revolutionary weapon. But if you still feel like making short work of two shotguns in your hand: equip standard ammunition, Akimbo and the sawn-off barrel, roam through narrow buildings and knock out enemies’ life points at close range with a bang.
