Although a lot of money is at stake, one Apex pro showed great sportsmanship and spared an opponent plagued by technical problems.

The biggest and most important e-sports tournament in the Battle Royale shooter Apex Legends took place last weekend. In the Clan World Championship Apex Legends Global Series, 40 teams from all over the world competed for a prize money of 2 million US dollars.

But it was not only exciting matches between the best players in the world that caused a stir: Although a huge sum was at stake, one of the pros spared a defenceless opponent and demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship.

Player spares defenceless enemy and earns praise

This happened: In the final round of the Apex World Championship, player Philip ImperialHal Dosen of Clan TSM spotted a player standing around completely motionless. After watching him for a few seconds, he said to his TSM mates: Don’t shoot him. Don’t shoot him, brother! He crashed.

After some back and forth with his comrades, Dosen once again insisted that they should not attack: ‘He’s 100 per cent crashed or something. Don’t shoot him – it’s from Scarz.

You can watch the whole situation in the following video:

His behaviour did not go unnoticed and both fans and competitors praised his decision to go easy on the player who was struggling with technical problems.

Twitter user RR, for example, wrote under the video:

He should be praised even more for doing that while his team desperately needed every point and that little advantage could make the difference in the end

Apex pro ImperialHai was modest, replying only that it was the least any player could do with these problems.

All’s well that ends well: Both TSM and Scarz were able to collect enough points to move on to the next round. Nevertheless, it was not enough to win the tournament, which was won by the Australian team DarkZero.

TSM still managed to finish in seventh place and was happy to receive 72,000 US dollars and a lot of positive publicity.

What’s next for Apex Legends

A few weeks ago, the biggest Apex Legends leak to date took place: A dataminer got hold of internal developer material and published extensive information on the new heroes for the next nine seasons.
