Battlefield 2042 secret specialists

The Battlefield 2042 beta has started – and dataminers have found something. In the files a new map and numerous specialists appear.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting this since the announcement: The Battlefield 2042 beta has officially started. While players can try out the multiplayer shooter for themselves for the first time, the data miner is having a temporyal romp in the game files.

After uncovering information about the game mode Hazard Zone in the alpha, there is now a load of information about the still secret Specialists of Battlefield 2042. The Specialists represent the new classes and offer special abilities:

Battlefield 2042’s new classes: All the familiar Specialists

To date, five specialists including their skills are officially known. There will be a total of ten for the release. According to temporyal, the remaining five with their names, backgrounds and special skills have now been found in the beta files.

Specialists: Wingsuit, revival and more

In the Specialists, a person finally gets a name, who until now was only known as Wingsuit-Specialist Actually, this specialist goes by the name Emma Rosier, nicknamed Sundance, and comes from France. In addition to the aforementioned wingsuit, she also has scatter grenades, an anti-armour ability and an EMP field that she can use to disrupt enemies.

Besides Emma Rosier and her wingsuit, temporyal was able to find info on the four remaining specialists, which we briefly summarise for you:

  • Constatin Angel Anghel: Can request crates of ammunition and armour, as well as revive fallen players and give them armour immediately.
  • Ji-Soo Paik: Players who shoot at her are automatically spotted and using the EMG-X scanner, she can highlight enemies who are hiding behind cover.
  • Navin Rao: Uses a Cyber Warfare Suit and Trojan Network to mark enemies near his kills and can disable enemy hardware.
  • Santiago Dozer Espinoza: Has a ballistic shield to protect himself from small arms fire and suffers less damage from explosions.
  • Ingame Challenges: As the Dataminer also found out, there will probably be special missions for the respective specialists at release. For example, an in-game challenge for Espinoza describes that he must achieve seven kills with the ballistic shield in one lifetime. However, it is still unclear what rewards there will be for completing the challenges.

After release: name of a new map emerged

When Battlefield 2042 is released on November 19, 2021, the shooter is said to offer seven huge multiplayer maps. In addition, there will also be six classics from previous parts in the Battlefield Portal game mode. But what comes after that?

Developer DICE is planning four seasons in the first year, each of which will deliver new content. In the first season there will probably be a new map, as temporyal discovered. The files contain hints about a map called Ridge, which is set in Canada and revolves around a secret research facility.

Pictures of the map are not yet available. According to the information, however, there is once again a conflict between the USA and Russia on the ground.

However, all information has not yet been officially confirmed and comes exclusively from the game files. Theoretically, they could also be placeholders or discarded concepts that might not find their way into the game in this form. Which content will actually end up in Battlefield 2042 will be revealed by November at the latest when the game is released.
