Content: What does Update 1.2 deliver?

Update 2.1 gives Battlefield 2042 a veritable truckload of improvements and changes. All patch notes can be found on this article. However, we have already summarized the highlights for you in the following list:

  • Rework of the map New Beginning: Once again DICE wants to implement the feedback of the community and has grabbed the map New Beginning after Kaleidoscope. In concrete terms, this means that the New Beginning rework should benefit infantry battles in confined spaces. Flags and targets are now much closer together, and running distances have been shortened – in some cases even entire areas of the map have been removed! There are also more and new cover options to optimise the game experience for infantrymen.
  • New Weapons: Battlefield veterans will of course know the P90 (from Battlefield 3), the GOL Sniper Magnum (from Bad Company 2) and the M1911 (also on Bad Company 2) from previous parts of the series. Now the shooting guns also land in 2042 and can be unlocked via the new deployment system thanks to update 2.1.
  • New vehicle: With the Polaris RZR, a new light buggy lands on the battlefield of 2042. The vehicle can accommodate several players at once and was already introduced at the unveiling of Season 2. Now it”s finally available to drive yourself.
  • Many improvements and bug fixes: Update 2.1 reduces mouse input lag issues, optimises balancing for the Nightbird and attack and transport helicopters, improves Irish”s APS-36 guard system and brings many other changes and improvements.

Liquidator event announced for October 2022

Last but not least, DICE has announced a new event that is supposed to start in mid-October – there is no concrete date at the moment. Just as little do we know what is in store for us with The Liquidators. The few, sparse pieces of information at least reveal that infantry gameplay will be the focus and players will be able to earn new cosmetic items. Wait and see.

What”s next for Battlefield 2042?

What happened last: Most recently, Battlefield 2042 launched with Master of Arms Season 2, which could even lead to a significant increase in player numbers. If you haven”t yet jumped back into the fray, you can find all the information you need to know about Season 2 in our big overview – you can watch the trailer for the Battle Pass of Master of Arms as follows:

This is what happens after 2042: At the same time, we can already venture a glimpse into the future of the Battlefield series: It”s no secret that a completely new part is in development. Above all, the story campaign is supposed to play a significant role. Last but not least, even EA boss Andrew Wilson commented on the last Battlefield games – and admitted mistakes: They had disappointed the fans” expectations, but now want to improve.
